Neighbors baiting with corn, What do I do

Is there an attractant that will pull deer back to me other than just baiting with corn?

 

Is it legal to bait wear you are at?

Battle of the corn pile! Yours just needs to be bigger then theirs.

 

Happens here too, I just put in two feeders of our own and tons of food plots, maintain cover and plant screens. The neighbor here hunts an 80 acre pasture just off the edge of the one 360 acre farm that's mostly cover but they put in a feeder and a 1/4 acre food plot.

So what the neighbor did was setup a tripod stand and a ladder stand right in the fence line facing our 360 acres...I'm clearing the cedars out of the oaks in that field and wind rowing them along the fence right up to the base of his ladder stand. This summer I'll plant egyptian wheat on the inside of the brush pile and set up a camera. Sucks when neighbors can't behave themselves. I expect them to try to pull deer out of our cover but to place a stand in the fence and face it towards our deer travel lane is a bit much.

 

We slingshot small water balloons filled with perfume two or three times a week when they try to out corn us.

 

Gosh darn it that's funny darn near snorted beer out of my nose on that one.

Petro based products work better. A little diesel fuel goes a long ways!

 

Hahaha! yup sabotage would work best :-P ......But in seriousness around here apples are king... and unfortunately illegal.

 

It has recently become "legal" here in Alabama as long as it's 100 yards from stand and not visible. We haven't seen many bucks this year, and a little bird told me that my neighbor has installed feeders. I understand the bigger the pile the better, but I was wondering if there is an attractant that I can put out that will get them back on my tract.

 

There are lots of attractants you can use to put with your corn, buck jam is one that comes to mind, deerlicsious is another one, that's kind of apple smelling. Adding mineral will help as well.

I have found that in my area record rack mineral its like a 20# bag I get it at TSC in the deer feed section smells good enough to eat myself. Its only $13-15

 

Thanks. I'm going to use corn, but I would like to make it more "attractive". Looking for something that someone has had success with in the past.

 

As long as it's legal, hunt how you want to.

 

I have not used it personally but I've been told by several people that would know, that Sugar Beet Crush is an incredible attractant alone or mixed with corn. You could also try mixing in some soybeans or some distillers grain if there's a local source.

Corn alone isn't going to compete with an option that has higher protein content.

I've used it during the summer... But 100lbs of corn and a half bottle of Monster Raxx Apple Harvest worked wonders. It smells amazing... Just make sure you mix it super well to get it spread around.

I put c'mere deer on my corn. We put out 100 lbs. in a new spot with some c'mere deer on it and in 5 days I had 1500 pics. They found it in no time.

 

I have a recipe somewhere that includes corn a pancake syrup I have not tried it yet but is supposed to be awesome... I will try and find it...

 

The only way to beat a feeding neighbor is to feed them longer than they do, buck up and go year round.

 

ditto..... my feeder stays full and feed corn year round it will throw corn for about 2.5 months the way I have it timed... and in GA I can not hunt within 200yds of it... so it also creates a pretty good sized sanctuary...
