Can't make up my mind on where to hunt Saturday. Forecast is for 30 degrees, snow flurries and a N NW wind at 15-20 mph. The wind is a little strong but it's my only chance this weekend to hit the woods and deer are on the move here as indicated by the fresh road kill showing up. My dilemma is I've got 2 good stands down wind of doe bedding areas that would be perfect spots, but the wind is also right to dawn the ghillie suit and slip my way through a huge thicket that has good fresh sign and is a known bedding area/all day hangout type of spot. I plan on putting a stand near by at the end of the season but at this point don't have one there yet.. I'm really about to flip a coin at this point. What say the fellow bow hunters here??
I would vote for an all day sit in a treestand. It's a lot harder to sneak up on a buck when he is on the move already!
agreed. This time of year id say pick one of those two stands and just wait it out. The bucks will be on the move so you don't have to
Thanks for replies. It's hard to sit tight with new sign, but you all are right. Gonna flip a coin between the stands and hit it.
