Dippin' in the stand?

    Quick question.... Do you guys who dip in the stand use a spit cup or just spit on the ground?

    Do you think dippin' in the stand has any effect of your level of success?

    Nope-- never been a problem for me, but I am a nut about hunting the wind... and it goes on the ground...

    I'm far too anal about scent to do it...although I don't do it in general :) Only water and apples allowed up the tree with me....sometimes a 5hour energy for all day sits but that crap is bad for you.

    I dip and just spit on ground or swallow it. Never had problem with deer busting me only because of that. Last year had four doe under my stand for hour all while had a dip in and spit on ground couple times. Once or twice almost on one of them.

    I spit Copenhagen on the ground, never been a problem. I chew Redman golden blend sometimes and deer love that stuff, I've had does and fawns licking it of the leaves.

    Skoal wintergreen Xtra for me, sometimes i spit on the ground, sometimes an empty bottle. i feel moving the bottle up to my lips is to much movement though..as far as the smell, anything to mask my smell is good IMO.

    Nothin like loadin up a big ol pinch of chaw in the stand at 430am!!!!!

    exactly what Wack-a-doo said. I think it might actually attract them! :lol: But seriously, I dip and sometimes spat into a pop bottle but most the time I have spat on the ground. I have never had an issue with it yet. Shot my biggest deer to dtae with a big ole fatty in my lip, so to me its good luck, but what do I know?

    Copenhagen Long Cut. Every deer I have killed in the past 5 years, it's been in my lip. Never had any reaction to it, but I don't spit.

    I agree on personal preference. Idk if it actually makes a difference but I'm not going to take any chances on a deer staying away cause i was too lazy to spit in a bottle (mud jug) so i just gut it
