Ok guys/gals this is something that I have questioned my self about for years. How close to your set up is to close to park your vehicle. I mean I have set ups that I could drive right up under, of course I'd never do this but how far away do you all feel safe parking with out the vehicle sound and appearance spooking the deer?

I have a spot I park and would walk far to my where I would set up only to come back to truck and see 4 does hanging around it. I've seriously thought about using the truck to hide behind.

depends, we have a lot of stands, some are "right out back" of the barn, so I can literally park 50' away on the other side of a structure. Either way I'm being quiet while gearing up. I know some guys like to blast the music at 5am.

As long as my entrance is "clean" I would park up to 50 yards from a stand. It all depends on what the deer in my area are used to.

geez im like a mile from my stands on avg. no way to drive any closer either. if I could drive closer I would be at least 150+ yards or where I cant really see the truck from where I am hunting to not spook any weary deer

Depends on which stand I go too. I have one stand that I can see my truck from. Killed plenty of deer out of it. I guess it's about 75 yards from it. Like stated above, I've walked back to my truck and seen deer standing next to it several times.

Last public land deer I killed was about 40 yards from my truck. Doe I shot last year was about 100 yards from my truck. Furthest stand I have from my truck now is about a half mile hike.

i can normally drive right to my stands but i prefer to walk several hundred yards to it. so no noise or smell can travel. I have 3 stands that are about a half mile to give or take. gotta hike around the swamp to get to em. i could get a 4 wheeler back there if need be though. i just like to walk. maybe find a new spot walking in to either sit down or bring a climber to set up

I have a stand that I am am parked only 80 yds. from. Although where I park is off the side of a county rd. so the deer are used to traffic.

Generally I park about 250 yards. Close but not too close for me. There are so many highways now, IMO deer are used to vehicles. Maybe not as much in the middle of a field but they are no strangers to vehicles. We can drive through the property we hunt and see deer and turkey. As long as you aren't on top of them, they usually watch you go by. Once you turn off the motor and get out is when they get a bit more concerned.

I park about 300 yards from my stands but if i had a better entrance that would allow me to park closer i would defiantly do just that

    Two spots:
    1 - about 300 yards away
2 - about 500+ yards away (but I can still see the truck)
