going to be attempting my first all day sit tomorrow. I will be doing it from a hang on stand. my longest hunt so far was 7 hours hunting hogs in Texas. looking to attempt a 12 hour sit tomorrow, any suggestions to keep me from bailing early? I plan on bringing 2 Gatorade bottles for Pee, some granola bars, & a sandwich.

Got a backup charger for your phone yet?
Bring lots of food and make sure you are warm and can take off layers and put layers on.

I personally don't worry about peeing into a bottle from my stands but that's up to you... I like to bring plenty to drink and snack on when doing an all day sit. Hand warmers are nice in case your hands or feet get cold. Then really just make sure you have the correct clothing to make it through the day. For me, all day sits are a whole lot easier when I'm not freezing....

Don't worry about peeing into a bottle. just go on the ground from your stand. Also bring a book or have some games on your phone or ipod if you have one because at some point you are going to be bored as hell.

Stand up every once in a while... stretch... take some arrows for shooting squirrels... get down and take a short walk then climb back up. Draw your bow every once in a while.

Pour super glue on your seat... that'll keep you in the stand.

I have done many all day sits and I like to have my phone and my iPod along. I bring my iPod just in case I get a really annoying song stuck in my head I can listen to something else for a few minutes to get it out of my head. A good book helps as well. Food/water and proper clothing and a good seat are a must.

Did you use an outfitter for the hog hunting or what? I'm looking to head down there this spring and do some hog hunting.

I did 5 all day sits in a row this week. I read the Chuck Adams book & it was fantastic. After every page I'd glance around for deer & after each chapter I'd grab the binos & glass. Really helps the time go by.

Chuck Adams is the man. I would be afraid to get involved in a book, i think it might get too distracting? I'm sure i'll think differently when i am in the tree for that long though. I bought some rain gear tonight from the boot box. always wanted/needed some, and the weather tomorrow is rain/sleet mix until mid morning. hate to get damp and cold right off the bat. just hope it doesnt sound like rustling a shopping bag when i move in it when it's cold.

I always have a field point with me, but i'm always reluctant to shoot a squirrel for fear that i would spook a nearby deer that i didnt see and ruin my chances. I don't have a problem whacking one right before i get down to head out though. don't know if i would be up for doing one during an all day sit.
