I was looking around on youtube yesterday and i found a video about a software you download to your computer and you can score a deer by trail camera pictures. I looked at the website and it costs $25 but if you have a Bushnell camera that comes with a coupon you can get it cheaper at least. Not sure if I want to get it as little as i'd use it. Anyone ever get it?
I think it gives you a realistic number. I usually measure for a worst case and then best case scenario. Is it an exact science? No. It helps me validate my opinion. The software uses regional data, eye and ear data, time of year, etc. and builds a case in numbers with what you have contributed. It also relies off of your measuring skills with regards to the software. I am no pro at using the software, but find what I am doing is reliable. It helps that I have a trail camera picture of a buck that is on my wall. If I was to give a guess on a tolerance it would be plus or minus 5 inches.
I used to have it and thought it was pretty neat. Never found out how reliable it was because I never shot anything that I used the program for.
I had it and used it alot but I was almost guessing within 5-10 inches of the deer anyway so unless you really need to know just picture that deer next to a pic of a scored deer until you can kinda match them. Fun to do though
