First off a lil long but I couldn’t be happier for her. Well earlier this summer my girlfriend came to me and said she wanted to go hunting with me this year. So with that thought being thrown out we jumped right on it and went out and bought her a new bow, had her shooting all summer long getting ready and she was a pretty dang good shot if I must add. When season came around she definitely put in her time with me and worked hard. She was very patient passing up countless amounts of small bucks and does waiting for that mature buck just like me. Well finally November 7th after watching a 10pt we were really familiar with for 4 days he pushed a doe right by us and she was able to get a shot off. The shot ended up hitting high for a few reasons, but it ended up hitting high above the spine and was a non lethal shot. We were able to get a few pictures of him a few days later to confirm it was non lethal. Well after that she was really down and slowed down with going out do to she didn’t like the cold weather so much. Well finally I was able to drag her out Sunday evening (this time with the muzzleloader in hand) we had a few does come in right at dark and I held her off on taking the shot due to the low light and legal shooting time only a minute away. So after that she was geeked up again and ready to go. Christmas Eve came along and she rushed home from work to make it out in the stand, we went back out to the same location hoping with the snow starting to fly the deer would move a little bit earlier. At about 4:30 she spotted 3 does moving are way so i had her get ready and got the camera ready, they made their way to about 50 yards and she made a perfect shot. The deer rand about 100 yards and piled up. Needless to say we where both more then excited with her getting her first deer after a long season. [IMG] [IMG]

Congrats... to both of you. I remember your ordeal earlier in the season and am glad she stuck with it. Find out if she can cook venison and you might just have a winner. LOL

ya we both had a awsome year in the stand, its something we both will never forget and take it on forever. she already is saying she cant wait until october 1st 2013. Even though i wasnt able to lay down a big buck this year this more then made up for it and i would of much rather her get her first deer vs me getting a big buck. wouldnt of tradded this season for any other season that has came or to come.
