My wife and I were walking the beach this morning and met a local island woman had a nice conversation about orphans on the island. We walked back to the resort and had lunch and talked about it and after we ate we headed to the orphanage to visit. Sure it seems not thought out we didn't consult our kids but we filled out the paper work and it looks like in less than 6 months we will be welcoming an addition to the family. Pot Cakes are awesome can't wait to till we pick up our orphan at the airport.

Seriously the paperwork is done the application fee has been paid. Plus I could use a little help around the farm.

Pot Cakes are a dog breed many are feral on Grand Turks Island, they capture the puppies and socialize them then they are put up for adoption. A perfect mix of mutt that won't have blindness issues or hip problems.

You can adopt a wild horse out here for $125.00. If you adopt one, they'll throw in a second horse for $25.00. If nothing else, that's a lot of dog food. Hahahaha!

    ;)

I think people's surprise came from you making it sound like you adopted a child.

I love dogs my wife used to rescue Great Danes, we moved on to smaller dogs. We went to the place and walked dogs this morning took a few to the beach and introduced the pups to as many people as possible. Awesome dogs most seem pretty mellow and well behaved. I think we are going to take a dog that is 9 months old, harder to get people to take a dog that is no longer a cute puppy. Older dogs take more time to train but it is well worth it in the end. Hope the dogs at home understand.

Nope I wisely tore out 2 horse stalls so we only have space for the 2 horses we have, I will not tell my wife about the horse adoption otherwise I would be headed out to Utah to pick some up.;)

Nope not me I don't do Mexico. I am only interested in bringing one home not a foster home. I would have brought a dog back from Turks and Caicos if they needed one transported but the shelter didn't. I know it seems stupid to get a dog from another country when there are so many pound dogs here but it may actually be cheaper than a shelter in the states. The place we visited gives the dogs their first 2 rounds of shots but no rabies shot and all you pay is the airport carry on fee, averages $130 depending on the airline.
