I've never been to a concert in my life. I've never been interested in being in a jostling crowd of screaming people while straining to hear music that I like. I've never thought enough of any celebrity to bother going to any kind of show. The group Home Free, however, is going to be performing at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN on 17 July an I booked tickets for my wife and I to go see them. I love acapella music and my preferred music is country. Even though they aren't what I would refer to as "country", I am still blown away by their sound. Their bass, Tim, with his four-plus octave range is absolutely incredible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhoBtlWbT-w My wife really likes them too, and it's close to my wife's birthday so I booked a room at the Opryland Resort. Pricey, but she's worth it.
If there has ever been a concert where anyone had to strain to hear the music, something was terribly wrong. I think you may have a distorted view on what a concert experience really is. For sure you will enjoy the Opry.
You're probably right. Having never been to one I can only imagine, but then I really don't like crowds.
Do not get an atrium side room either, with all the fountains and waterfalls you will get up 20 times in a night to pee.
The Gaylord Opryland is my favorite of all the Gaylords, there is a bunch of little honkey tonks about a block away and the Dukes Of Hazard Museum is right there as well.
Even if that crowd consists of thousands of cowgirls in short denim skirts and cowboy boots ready to party? Come on now....
Now what's the point in being surrounded by thousands of cowgirls in short denim skirts and cowboy boots ready to party when your wife is on your arm? :D
I've never been to an actual honey-tonk. Could be a lot of fun. If I could get my wife to have a few drinks it could be a whole lot of fun.
Last time I was down there Marty Stewart showed up and we got after it drinking and singing, a big time.
