Wifey and I are heading to Baltimore to do some scouting for our Pie Bakery/Cafe. We are checking out Dangerously Delicious Pies and I am wondering if anyone else has any recommendations for other places to eat? Anything we need to see?
No suggestions from me - husband has been working in the area and never suggested anything. But, I heard they are getting quite the storm right now - so safe travels!
The area down by the ballpark is pretty cool. To eat don't bother with Phillips go to little Italy instead.
No worries, Doug ... Just a business trip We aren't heading out until 6am tomorrow..,,looking like 40s for the weekend You have got to be a little more specific, Bro...
Annapolis is much better than Baltimore, safer too. Lots and lots of good food, sights, and people. Downtown is all 1700's historic. Check out Middleton's Tavern among many, many others. Great for walking around and seeing the sights. Nightlife at the docks is pretty active too and safe. State House, Naval Academy, lots of shops and historic taverns for eating and drinking. Baltimore has a nice tourist-y area around the ballpark/inner harbor, National Aquarium and such. Little Italy is the place to go for good food. Parking is tough and pricey. I'm not much into cities, and outside of the harbor area, Baltimore is a filth-encrusted, crime ridden, ghetto cesspool to me, and one of the highest in crime and murder in the country. We just got about 10" of snow yesterday, and from we're hearing, the roads are still bad. Should be nice later this week though, with temps getting up close to 60. Good luck. V
The area by the ball park is pretty evident the bars with the Natty Boi signs. Any place in little Italy is excellent I was there last January for a week told the taxi driver me to little Italy, got dropped of and tried 4 different places on 4 different nights and every place was some of the best Italian food I have had, not the absolute best but close.
We are going specifically to tour the aforementioned restaurant, so I will be in Baltimore....how far is Annapolis from Baltimore?
Stop by the house and eat with us! If not that then head to Annapolis maybe 30 minutes from downtown. I will check with the old man about the name of a nice place there on the water he likes.
Anywhere in particular in/around Baltimore that you're considering? Or is this a recon only trip? ~Bill
Bill, just recon, so we are open ... Total write off so might as well do something fun... I want to stuff my face with seafood one meal...Thames is what I'm thinking for that... We will start the trip at Dangerously Delicious Pies for lunch tomorrow...then?
IMHO, if your exploring: NW toward Towson seemed interesting (school, but some affluent areas; you might like the Ag/hilly areas headed up toward Pa for hunting); the Balto-Washington corridor craziness. ~Bill
We do, but when I am on the coast, I want seafood Just gonna be a quick trip.....not recon to live there...
