Hot Springs is nice area. Southern Arkansas is a bit (and by a bit I mean alot) hickish. Lots of outdoor stuff to do, not much else though.

    Northwest Arkansas is awesome though.

I'm not familiar w. Hot Springs. Like Hooker said, NW Arkansas is a really nice area and a fisherman's paradise. Lots of great lakes up on the Missouri/Arkansas border.

I've actually travelled to Hot Springs fairly frequently over the past several years, as my boss lives there. If you own a boat, it would be awesome. Lake Hamilton is a beautiful lake, and I've spent quite a few afternoons on it water-skiing and tubing...

It's very close to Little Rock if you need to fly anywhere (my boss flies to several states every single week...). There's some pretty cool history with the area too, with Al Capone headquartering out of there for several years. Rumor is that the Hamilton House, which was previously owned by Capone, has a tunnel beneath the lake connecting the house to one of the downtown bars.

There are several big actors who have houses on the lake including Ted Danson (of Cheers fame), and one of the guys from Seinfeld used to have a house there too. (Not saying that so you can be an autograph hound but if people like that can afford to live basically anywhere they want and choose to live there, then you know it's a pretty area...)

The town itself is small enough to not be too hectic to drive in, but like I said, if you desire "larger" amenities you're a short drive from Little Rock.

I live just outside of Fort Smith Ark. If you like the outdoors the ozarks and ouachitas are hard to beat. I like NWA better than the southern part of the state though. If your looking to move to hot springs Lake Hamilton is where you want to be. Not to mention lake ouachita and degray are just up and down the road. Beautiful state with tons of outdoor activities.

Get the house and a big pond. You'll have a lot of the waterfowl guys on this page beating down your door to hunt it... I got dibs.

I live roughly an hour from hot springs. I like the area and we do have accents down here. Some more than others. The hunting is good and you'll be in the ouchita national forest which is where I hunt. Big place with lots of different critters. Arkansas is hard to beat, especially hot springs. Close to. Little rock if u need to shop or want to get out in the city, our deer season is one of the lonest, lots of bears in ouchita national forest. Lower cost of living also not to mention we've got the best duck hunting place in the lower 48! Like ybohunt has said, I also live here so my opinion is biased. Lol
