As a buyer, I would have put this in the "rant thread"... I always pull my hair out at idiots who bid the item up days before the auction ends. I had several youth bows lying around and decided to get rid of them after buying both my boys new Diamond Infinity Edges for Christmas.

I sold a couple through the forums like usual, but decided to put one on ebay for kicks... It's amazing me to watch people bid each other up well before the end. Heck, I may have to start selling all my old bows this way.

I will never make a bid on an ebay item till the last 30 seconds or so. To put in a bid early just to have others drive up the price for days is stupid. Best auctions are always the ones that have 0 bids till right at the end because they run out of time to get the priced jacked up to high.

Exactly. Back in the day when I did buy more stuff off ebay, I'd have two monitors up and running... one with the auction going where I could watch the countdown timer, and the other with the bid ready to input so I could hit the "place bid" button with about four seconds left.

The only negative to that is sometimes I'd get outbid by someone else playing the same game who placed a higher bid than me... that was just the chance I was willing to take. I had to make sure I bid up to what I was willing to pay and rolled the dice.

And I'm sure they make/made some software app that would do that for me... that was just my redneck way of doing it. :D

Hey as the seller when that happens I sit back and smile lol As a buyer I also just place a max bid unless the auction is ending relatively soon and / or I know I'm gonna be available to watch it countdown.

I spend way too much time on Ebay...

Thanks for bring up ebay again Greg. Was doing real well not getting on it lately and bidding on stuff. I already have 8 items I am now watching and waiting till they get closer to ending before bidding.

What kills me about selling stuff on ebay is the fees they charge. I didn't realize that their fees where as high as they are now and when I sold my chill on there during the summer I didn't allow for the fee and got ripped. They charged me over 60 bucks! Live and learn...
