    Anyone else doing Testosterone replacement therapy?

    If you are over a certain age I would bet your numbers are low.. At 50 I found myself really dragging about mid day I just felt like I had no energy.. I have always been active hiking, biking and weight training but I felt like a slug.. I went in got tested total free test was 150 should have been at least twice that..
    I started getting weekly shots as soon as I weighed the pros and cons and did a ton of research... My number now at 53 is slightly is over 900 I have tons of energy and feel like I am 25 again..[I know sounds like an infomercial]

    I also go to my urologist regularly and make sure everything is OK as far as everything else..I get the shots at a mens clinic that specializes in TRT, If you are over 40 and feel sluggish I highly recommend you get tested.. BTW I tried androgel and a few other things but nothing works like the weekly shots..
    I also take two HGC shots a week and take an estrogen blocker you never just want to do testosterone alone unless you want to grow moobs..

    The wife has also noticed a few things that I won't get into, lets just say I have been in full rut for a while...lol

    Anyway just curious if anyone else is doing Testosterone replacement therapy and how is it going..

    I think about it when I watch an MMA match and the announcers talk about all the guys that are on it... ;)

    Personally I am slowing down and I'm only 30. I know most people would have much more energy if they ate properly and actually got 8 hours of sleep. I'm guilty at not doing either the past few years.

    I have always tried to eat healthy and get plenty of exercise , but everyone is different as far as the amount of natural testosterone you make..

    My wife feeds me ginseng. I don't think I need it, but she says she's not taking any chances.

    at 38 it's been entering my mind lately, but i think for me it has to do with my work/sleep schedule. I go to bed at 7pm, alarm goes off at 12:10am, i work from 2am-11am.

    Best way to find out is a simple blood test... The clinic I go to get my shots at has a dude in his late 20s who's testosterone was lower then mine I think they said it was around 100...

    49????? Damn, you OLD!!!

    Definitely your schedule..

    I would caution EVERYONE to change your diet before you do anything....especially go for blood tests and Doctor's visits. America is WAY to dependent on treating a symptom, which leads to treating the treatment ..

    Go see a Homeopath if you have to see a Dr and give them a shot .... modern medicine is mostly a joke...

    My doctor advised strongly against it. In his opinion, its a cottage industry invented to make doctors and drug companies rich and all of the risks are not yet known. I changed my lifestyle and got all the energy back at 47 that I had as a 20 year old. Eliminate sugar and corn syrup for starters. No processed foods. Get regular exercise, lose the fat, and get good rest. My wife has to keep her running shoes on 24/7.

    Regular exercise makes a world of difference for me. If I don't get the exercise I know it....as does my wife.

    I agree with most all the comments including changing you diet and exercising more which has shown to bring up your numbes..
    I did all that but my numbers did not budge, I read a lot did a lot research and talked to two different doctors..
    In end my urologist put me a couple diff tropicals at different times which are a joke and my number barely came up at all and that stuff is expensive..

    So after exhausting all the other avenues I opted for the shots which as I said have worked wonders I am talking amazing, it might not be the fountain of youth but it is pretty close..
    It works for me might not be your thing but I can't complain..

    Call your doctor at once if you have:
    • nausea or vomiting;
    • changes in skin color;
    • increased or ongoing erection of the penis;
    • impotence, ejaculation problems, decreased amounts of semen, decrease in testicle size;
    • painful or difficult urination;
    • shortness of breath (even with mild exertion);
    • swelling in your ankles or feet, rapid weight gain;
    • signs of a blood clot in the lung - chest pain, sudden cough, wheezing, rapid breathing, coughing up blood;
    • signs of a blood clot in your leg - pain, swelling, warmth, or redness in one or both legs;
    • high levels of calcium in the blood--stomach pain, constipation, increased thirst or urination, muscle pain or weakness, joint pain, confusion, and feeling tired or restless; or
    • liver problems - upper stomach pain, itching, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).
    Women receiving testosterone may develop male characteristics, which could be irreversible if treatment is continued. Call your doctor at once if you notice any of these signs of excess testosterone:
    • acne;
    • changes in menstrual periods;
    • male-pattern hair growth (such as on the chin or chest);
    • hoarse or deepened voice; or
    • enlarged clitoris.
    Common testosterone side effects (in men or women) may include:
    • breast swelling;
    • headache, anxiety;
    • increased facial or body hair growth, male-pattern baldness;
    • increased or decreased interest in sex;
    • numbness or tingly feeling; or
    • pain or swelling where the medicine was injected.
    This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

    I love the last sentence call your doctor for medical advice about side effect ..... damn...
