our first decent snow in the Roswell area.....should be gone by noon...lol wifes office called told her to wait till 11 to come in....so we got back in bed for a bit.....
I like for about 3 or 4 days max, anymore then that it sucks... no one can drive on it here and they have virtually no equipment to deal with it... but like I said should be gone by noon.. and here it's not the snow, we get more ice on the roads..
Meanwhile... I am usually perfectly fine with the snow - but this winter has been extremely cold. It's been -15 to -20* just every morning lately.
Giggle all you want but you don't have clue what it is like down here when we get snow/ice.. I didn't post this to make out like it was a major event.... was just tongue and cheek , but if want to go there we can...:p What folks don't understand who live up north and I grew up in Northern MI I know what real snow is we used to get 300+" a year.. Folks down here are not used to it and it tends to turn into ice on the roads and they don't have the equipment to de-ice them or very little equipment. I don't care where you are from no one can drive on ice..unless you are driving a Zamboni..lol After being down here 30 years the biggest issues as far as wrecks seem to be caused by folks who just moved here from the north and think oh hell it's just a little snow so they bust out on the roads and find out real quick it's just not snow, the over passes freeze it's hilly as crap in this area and it just makes for a crappy day or two, Did you see what happened last year the whole ATL area was covered it a sheet of ice for three days and people had to abandon cars on the Hwys . I am used to diving in snow but could not get out of our hilly subdivision for two days and we have an AWD SUV... So glad I work out of the house. plus I got to get back in bed and sex my wife what did you do this morning....lmao
thankfully we did not get real cold before this snow so it will be gone soon... and should be no ice issues..
Up in Fitz's area the actual temperature a few days ago was -41... Without wind chill. Haven't got nearly as much snow as last year... But I'm ready for spring.
That's our biggest problem - ice. We have a couple inches ice under all the snow. We get snow, then a slight warm up then instant below freezing temps. Have had many structural collapses lately. But, I know all about the ice and people not being able to drive in it. Philadelphia is known for it - my DH has been working outside Phili and says it's a scary time trying to drive through everyone who cannot drive.
I've got family in Marrietta. During that snow/ ice last year it took my aunt something like 10 hours to get home from work, only like a 10 minute ride usually. And she's from Cedar Lake, IN originally.
this is why I can't convince my wife to move much further north then KY, She was born and raised here in the south she does not like bitter cold..
it was awful when you leave our subdivision it's uphill both ways [really] and the road was littered with so many abandoned cars.. my wife left work at noon if she had waited another 20min she would have not made it home it iced up so quick..
My wife is becoming increasingly incensed about the single digit temperatures and having to wear "yoga pants" under her skirts. She says as soon as it gets warm she's going to burn them in a ceremony in the back yard. I suggested she save them for next winter.
I went to work where it snowed harder then down there and thought about having sex but it's all guys here at that time of the morning so that thought quickly went away and back to the task at HAND. I know you southern folks don't have the means to deal with even the smallest bit of winter conditions. It's still funny for us northern folk.
I understand I laughed at it when I first moved down here... I don't anymore.... and I don't even think about going to the grocery store the day before a predicted snow..lol
I saw them when you first posted them, but they're gone now. Did you forget to pay your dues or something?
