Who will be watching? On a side note, Saint Tressel was elected to the HOF. He will be on the field for the coin toss. Can't wait to see him on the field again. I know there are more bucks "haters" than fans on this forum, but anyone want to throw predictions for the game?
With the number of midwest guys here that understand the impact this has for Big Ten, I think there will be a bunch of guys here hoping you guys win this thing. The only thing I hate about if OSU wins this thing is it will definitely give them an even bigger leg up when recruiting guys from the Northeast.
Oregon WR Carrington suspended for the game due to a positive drug test. He was the star of the Rose bowl for the ducks O.
I could certainly see this game going either way but I'm picking OSU for the win. Reasons below: 1. I like OSU in the (perceived) underdog role. Urban Meyer is 5-0 as the underdog while coaching at OSU. 2. Urban Meyer is familiar with the type of offense Oregon runs since he has implemented some of Chip Kelly's schemes into OSU's offense. This will help them be prepared although it is difficult to replicate the tempo of Oregon. 3. There is a perception by many casual observers that Oregon has the advantage in team speed. Oregon plays a very quick tempo on offense but that does not mean they have faster players than OSU. I believe Oregon will be surprised at the speed of OSU just as Bama was in the semi final. 4. Mariota is the best player taking the field on Monday. But, OSU has the more talented overall team according to both NFL projections and high school recruiting classes. Teams win championships, no one player. It also does not help Oregon that they recently lost two of their receivers.
Carrington couldn't leave Mary Jane alone, yep that's a huge blow for the ducks. They are also without their best tight end, but last week the role was filled pretty good.
It has been 12 years since a big 10 school won the national championship, not sure why the confidence this year will be different. The Big 10 has been left behind.
Who won that national championship 12 years ago? Why are you so confident in a team which has NEVER won a national championship? Oregon could easily win this game. But your reasons why make no sense.
PAC hasn't won one since 2004. I am having difficulty following the logic behind your replies. It's OK to say you have a gut feeling the Ducks are going to win.
The Big 10 is not the powerful conference it used to be, that is my point. I am not going to count wins in 2nd tier bowl games as a sign of a powerful conference, I simply pointed out the Big 10 has not had a national champion in 12 years.
