That's amazing man. Down here in South Florida I suppose our equivalent to those Salmon & fly fishing are fly fishing for Redfish. Awesome fishes. Where did you catch them? Were you catching and releasing or did you eat them? Congrats! Those are some photo worthy fish.

She was close to 32"...figure 14 pounds or so.

They were all caught in NY Lake Ontario tributaries.

    Reds are a good comparison.
We released all the fish on these trips.

Are these streams accessible to the public? If so, thats one heck of a resource and hopefully everyone C&Rs like you do.

Yes they are open to the public. I have fished a lot different cold water fisheries and a couple of NY rivers are world class. Unfortunately not everyone C&R, however a good percentage do and it makes a big difference. The idea that we can enjoy a fantastic resource and leave it for others to also adds to the experience.

Trial, what setups were you guys fishing (flies, rod length/wt, droppers, no droppers, etc.)? The wannabe fly fisherman in me wants to know :D

Mostly dead drifting egg patterns at this time of year. Single flies( glo bugs, scrambled eggs, eztaz eggs, cristal meth, small lifters, salmon River fleas), no tandem rigs...small amount of weight about the break in the leaders....we also swung wet flies( egg sucking leeches) and salmon steelhead patterns at times also.

Fished a variety of single handed rods, mostly 10 footers in 7 and 8 weight.
We also fish some short double handed ( switch and Spey rods) in 6-8 weights.
