It was supposed to storm this morning so I wasn't really planning on running early, especially since I had spent the evening dragging, skinning and quartering the doe I shot. I had drank a few "celebratory beers" and since it was almost 10:00 by the time I got finished I didn't eat anything at all last night. I woke up at 7:00 am and checked the weather forecast which said no rain until after noon. At first I beat myself up a little for not getting up earlier and getting on the stand. Oh well, I really needed to run and it was nice and cool. We drove to Navy Lake in Millington, TN where we run. The course has some hills, but it's not too tough. I did my 10 mile run in 1:45, which is a little off my 10 minute mile pace, but since I recently had to take 8 days straight off and my only preparatory runs after that break were two 4 mile runs, I'm pretty well pleased with the result. A little more conditioning and add another three miles and I'll be on target to to the half in 2:10, which is my goal.
Go get 'em chief! Im a xcountry runner and mostly train for 5ks. It would take a lot for me to do half marathon.
That is a great time... I am looking for a partner for the Pensacola Bridge run in Feb... interested?
