Did anybody stay up and watch that AL Wild Card game? Yes, I'm from Missouri, George Brett is my favorite player of all time and I'm a die hard Royals fan living in the KC area. With that being said, that was the greatest baseball game I've ever witnessed in my life. It has been 29 years since the last time the Royals did this (I was 5) so I'm pretty much in unchartered territory for watching Royals games in October! What a ride! GO ROYALS!
Hell yes, I almost gave up on them after the 6th. I still can't believe all the ups and downs of that game. The drama was incredible. Now it's time for Blue October. Go Royals!
I have been a George Brett fan for years, I have one of his jerseys, every year of baseball cards, and my son's middle name is George. That being said game 7 of the 1991 world series is the best game ever
I kept trying to go to bed to try and get some sleep before the opener. It was too good to go to bed though. Glad I stayed up to watch it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'll agree with the OP. Geographically for the first 23 years of my life I was a Red Sox fan (sorry). But after moving out to KC for the last 5 years it's been awesome to watch this city rally behind an improving ball club. Monday nights wild card game was probably the best I've ever witnessed in terms of back and forth clutch scoring. The only other thing I can compare it to was when the Red Sox came back from being down in the series 0-3 to the Yankees and won the ALCS
Great game. Good way to kick off the playoffs. Best game ever??.... ehhhh Congrats to the Royals, they fought their butts off. Very exciting finish for any baseball fan.
I'd say it was possibly a game of a life time. Even Cal said he never seen anything like it! I am by no means a die hard baseball fan but I was on the edge of my seat almost the entire game.... I wonder how many people turned that game off early thinking it was over?
It was a great game, no one will argue that. I won't say it was the greatest game ever though. Perhaps the greatest game in Royals history.
Cardinal fans tend to forget there was a bad call going the other way in the 4th when Frank White was called out stealing second. Replay showed he was not out also. Next batter hit a single that would have scored White.
