Got our new pup on Friday. His name is Remington (I call him Remi). He's a chocolate lab. Hoping to be used as a bird dog down the road - but right now he is being spoiled. He will be eight weeks old on the 19th. He's my new little buddy. A little whiney at times, but he's a good boy.
Awesome. What breed of lab is he? We got this little girl last week. Unsure of what type of lab she is. I'm thinking she is a English. My chocolate is american.
I'm not sure there is anything in the world cute'er than a puppy! Start training early and be persistent.
Awesome! Our chocolate has turned out to be a wonderful dog. Be warned that they turn from this: To this really fast:
Thank you everyone. So far he is doing great. Didn't have any accidents in the house from yesterday after work to this morning. We are working on sit and stay. He does the sit good, the stay he is still trying to figure out. He still hates his crate, but stayed in it quietly for 4 hours. But he has a thing for feet and pant legs. It's cute for a second until he trips ya - we are working on No and breaking that habit! I'm sure he is going to grow rather quickly, but thankfully, labs show that affection of a puppy for a long time. He is an English lab.
I have two that I grew up with at my parents - I'm just an odd one - I like it. Helps because I am the only one in the house now, so he will keep me company!
adorable... i see why he is spoiled! I had a lab.. what is the difference between american and english labs other than their accent perhaps. T
Its more so a field lab and show lab, different features in body types. Long or short legs, a block type head vs a narrow skull or shorter muzzle...
I'm no expert, but I would say its a field lab, Your show labs are usually shorter leg, fluffy coat. Now unless your getting 2300$ lab you will get mixed characteristics. Like my chocolate is a field lab but has a block head of like a show lab.
