Everyone must be getting ready for the busy hunting season that is upon us! However, I am here, stuck at work! The boards have been quiet lately. Everyone just about ready for the season?
Getting there! Temperatures have been around 95 and humid as heck here in Indiana so its just made it a pain lately. I thought that same thing about the forum earlier.
Jerry, I really hope so! We had some good signs earlier this summer. It died off a bit, but as some have told me, deer are preparing for winter and rut...so hopefully they'll be back! I am very optimistic this year!
Stuck at work as well. It's getting harder and harder to get work done the closer the season gets, pretty much ready to go just been shooting with the wife helping her for her first season but it's been so dang hot and humid the AC is the place to be.
I don't have everything ready but I'm ready....if that makes any sense. We've been out of deer meat since May so the first few that walk in front of me are in trouble.
Stick, totally agree. I have so much going on right now - when I get home from work I have no down time at all. I still don't even have my bow fully sighted in. Grn, makes perfect sense. There's always time for something else.
I have to finish this work week and then one more week... Then I am headed down to our hunting property for first four days of my season. I have my gear ready, I went down two weekends ago and did some final scouting and hung stands. We were really hoping to see at least on shooter. We ended up seeing two. One was right near my proposed stand location, and the other was right near my buddies stand last year. It was a great trip and really got me amped for this coming season.
Throw two kids in the mix that just started school last week, things that were at the top of MY list to do or get done has suddenly fallen to the bottom and replaced with things from the wife's, funny how that works but it comes with the territory
No kids, but just moved in a new house and add two horses - with a husband that works out of town...lots of stuff on my list!
No cameras hung, no scouting done, don't know where I'm hunting for sure this year (have lots of options). Going camping/fishing/elk scouting with my wife this weekend. Elk hunting Sept. 20-27 and will start to think about deer after that.
Counting the minutes till October 1st! But also stoked about the college football season cranking up!
Headed up to the cabin on Saturday to the last bit of scouting before season. I need to find some acorns to hunt over, my oak trees don't seem to be producing this year.
Closing on some property September 10th, Land owner is only allowing me to put up cameras until it is ours to own. I hope cutting trails in early September wont hurt us too bad.
