My wife was on facebook today and saw a post of a mountain lion. I live in Rhode Island this is imposible. I told here its a hoax. She is getting life insurance for me. I guess the post says that dem put them in to the area to drop the fisher cat population. Rhode Island is messed up enough don't need mountain lions killing things too. If any one has any info that I can give my wife to calm here down please share.

Get rid of Facebook. I have never been to the site but from what I hear it not something I need in my life. My wife once posted a picture of a couple of bucks that were on the driveway. I starting getting txts about the pics. I had her take the pics down

A mountain lion will probably smell/hear/see you coming a mile away and leave the area.. and that is if it was even in the area you were hunting! Chances of getting attacked by a mountain lion are less then getting struck by lightening.

Don't tell her, but moutain lions probably are in RI.. but they are going to be very few and far between. PA has them and the PA game commission is finally admitting to it after years of denial.. even after a farmer a few towns over shot and killed 1 attacking his sheep!

Unless you weight under 80lbs I don't think a mountain lion will be taking you on.

As far as the insurance though, just make sure your never worth more dead than alive.

    I'm just saying.

I got rid of Facebook last year and couldn't be happier. And I'm pretty sure a mountain lion won't take on a human unless absolutely necessary.

First I'm hearing of this in RI! could be true, I'm sure they are already here....just like moose in the scituate reservoir land, (saw a moose two weeks ago at 245am on rte 116 scituate) I also saw a big 'ol cat in woodstock CT one morning around 345 while i was driving to my public land spot.

I'm not a huge fan but I occasionally visit the site. Not really much different from this site minus the hunting. IMHO.

There have been moose in Iowa so I'd say it's possible. Them kitties travel a long ways. Several have been shot here as well.

It is extremely possible that there are mountain lions in Rhode Island. I personally know for a fact they are in Mass. Very far and few in between but there are numerous confirmed accounts of them in Mass and especially Maine /NH. No reason they cant be in RI if theyre in Mass.

However, there is no way anyone "put" them there for any reason. They can travel and incredible amount of miles.

I haven't heard anything about mountain lions in RI but it wouldn't surprise me. I definitely don't think you or I would be seeing them while hunting, let alone getting attacked by one.

I would have a sit down with her and ask what the real reason for the insurance policy is. Haha

Tell her you can't take baths then.

I agree some people take Facebook far too serious! But, life insurance isn't always a bad thing.

You should have life insurance, mountain lions or not. What would your family do if you fell out of a tree and died?

I've had a LI policy since I was 20. Anyone who has people that depend on them should have one.

This sounds like more of a wife problem than a FB problem...
