Just started to get into bass fishing after saltwater fishing for years. Needless to say I'm a little bit clueless. Just wanted to here what everyone's favorite bass fishing lure was.

Drop shot a Robo Worm, Aaron's Magic about 5" - 12" above the bottom, on a sized 4 or 6 octopus hook. You will thank me.

Would that work in deeper water? One lake I fish is very shallow and the other is pretty deep.

Texas rigged finesse worm is my favorite. It will catch any size of Bass and a bunch of them.

I clearly have a lot to learn. I counted 19 decent sized large mouth bass jump out of the lake and I didn't catch a single one. How would you guys fish this area. There's decent cover, two submerged trees and a patch of lily pads. It's about 4 feet at the deepest.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

The most frustrating part is I know there's bass in here.

My Dad went on a bass fishing trip down in Florida and caught his on sparkley worms.

We went to Field and Stream and bought heavy duty worm hooks (the offset kind) and Strike King worms. We fish in lakes - so that should work.

My favorite changes from day to day .... depends on what they're wanting to bite on . I do tend to try a Texas rigged finesse worm or spinnerbait first though . For ponds my go to bait is an inline spinnerbait and my favorite color is black/blue/ purple .

My favorite lure to catch them on is a crank bait, specifically a square bill KVD. But my go to when all else fails is a weightless senko.

Chigger craw for large mouth, and clack-n-rap for smallies.

Jig & pig in March early April.
Double willow bladed spinnerbait the rest of April & bigger the better with bright colors.
May switch to a stick baits & plastic worms.
June evenings fish with topwater; crippled shad, pop-r's, hoola poppers and buzz baits.

Do yourself a favor and say screw bass fishing the rest of the year and get ready for hunting.

5" Senko on a Trokar hook, best combo out there IMO.

You could also run a shallow crank (Strike King, Bandit, Koppers)

    Good Luck

I still got to get used to that fact that a "big" bass is pretty small in my book. This is my biggest bluefish from last year.[IMG]
