Not gonna lie...he went about this decision perfectly. The letter from him is honest, respectful and sincere. I may actually have to re-train myself to no longer despise him...Cleveland be thankful, the sun actually may rise with title hopes yet again.
I love the move and how James is handling the situation. Would not surprise me if Cleveland finds a way to get Kevin Love to join them.
One of the smartest basketball players in history and never went to college. Cleveland will NEVER win a championship with him there, but he will sell a ton of tickets and with already wearing a ring he is just focused on money/business. Perfect match the only losers are the fans.
They will be favorites to win the east and return to the finals his first year back... You can't be serious. Compare this years squad with 07 squad he made it with. I'm torn on this decision. If I was in his shoes, I'd not have been able to get over Dan Gilbert's scathing letter calling me a coward for leaving, when in reality it was the horribly mismanaged Cavs leadership that caused him to leave in the first place. One things for sure, Lebron, Kyrie, and either Wiggins/Love would be amazing to watch. Just think if the Cavs wouldn't have been idiots last year and wasted the #1 pick on Anthony Bennett. They'd be even more set right now.
Care to elaborate? They have an extremely talented group of young players... If they can lure someone else like Love, they have just as good of shot as the next team. It will be interesting with the coaching situation though.
with Love or Pau Gasol they might be able to contend, but the OKC thunder has shown that it is not easy to win a ring with just a superstar (or two) when other TEAMS play like a team and have good solid role players...
The coaching side story is what is most interesting to me as a UK fan.... John Calipari just turned down a 10 year $80 million contract to coach the Cavs before all this went down. If their coach fails this year I see him leaving after winning it all this year. If their coach succeeds as he likely will then theres a great chance Cal will retire at UK.
And you don't think the best player on Earth won't attract good veteran role players? Exhibit A) the Miami heat carousel the past 4 years.
No I didn't say that, but I don't think they have any good veterans in their current lineup though or they Would be a better team currently. Their roster, as well as other teams, will obviously continue to evolve now that Lebron has made his move. They will have a good lineup and could win the east maybe with no other moves.
I'm not a big basketball fan but I read his letter and think he is going about it the right way. If what he said in his letter is true, I'll be a supporter.
TWolves don't deserve to be an NBA franchise anymore if they accept that after turning down the Warriors offer for Love which was much better than Waiters and Bennett package. TWolves should and likely will hold out for Wiggins to be in package w someone before they consider it.
According to the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino - Cleveland now a 4-1 favorite to win the 14'-15' championship. Miami is 100-1
My thought is that this confirms how desperate Cleveland is. "The Decision" was equated to breaking up with your girlfriend on national TV in front of millions of viewers. Most women would NEVER take back a man who did that, but a woman desperate enough (or crazy enough) would. Wost of all it was him home state that he did it too. I would have told him to suck-it, but then I don't know if Cleveland has ever won anything, ever, so......
