Heard that pot is legal in Washington today but only got a quarter of the story stating that it joins Colorado.

    Your thoughts?

Wish all states would fully legalize it and regulate it in the exact same way as tobacco.

It is no more mind altering than alcohol. It is no worse for your health than alcohol. It is no worse in social consequences than alcohol. In fact, it could be argued that alcohol is in fact worse in all 3 of those categories... yet alcohol is legal.

    ^That. Studies show that, too.

And the revenue in taxes, is astronomical. Legalize everywhere and start getting out if debt. Once its legal the fad will fade.

Just what this country needs:-/ More ways to get wasted.

Just remember people. Our youth looks up to us and everything we do they will do better or worse in this case.

For those of you that feel you can handle more freedom good luck but many people can't. Many people can't graduate high school or find a job in the US of A so like our government lottery tickets these are the people that will be getting stoned the most. :(

I don't see that as a good thing but I know I'm a minority in that.

Ok then let get rid of alcohol then. I be more in favor of that then the argument of let's add more fuel to the fire.

But that's me and I love nice wine and spirits.

It saddens me how many Americans hate personal freedom.

I'm not happy when this country is full of hypocrites. They are cool with taking away freedoms if it does not affect them or they do not believe in them, but then become outraged if someone mentions the idea of taking away a freedom that they love or cherish.

    It's just pure hypocrisy.

Believing in freedom means you are going to have to believe in freedom even if you disagree with the action.

I just hope it makes it way to Michigan within the next 10 years. I rarely ever drink to get drunk, especially cause craft beer isn't cheap and I really don't enjoy the buzz compared to some fine Headband Lettuce!

It really has nothing to to with personal freedoms. Whether you believe it or not, Weed does adversely affect peoples decision making abilities. Both short term and long term. There are studies showing that people that smoke weed on a consistent basis are apathetic and disinterested in setting and working towards goals. I'm pretty sure out society doesn't need any more of this as we already have way too many people like this. Also, there is no way to give a field sobriety test, and driving stoned is dangerous. That affects innocent people, which would no longer make it a personal freedom.

Without rules and laws you have anarchy. There is no place in society for anarchy. There must be a structure with norms, morals, rules and laws. It's the only way a society can function.
