I did a shorter run today. It was only 5 miles, but I did it in 49:30. I don't see me ever getting back to my old 8 minute mile pace from my younger days, so maybe I should forget that and just enjoy the process. If I can get over this ankle issue I'll try to run 4 to 5 days a week since most marathon/half-marathon training plans call for that, but for the time being I'm keeping it at 3 times a week: Shorter runs on Monday and Wednesday with my long runs on Saturday. We'll see.
That's pretty good, I don't think I could get much better. Keep it up Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
Excellent job. Have you tried doing 60s/120s? Doing 60/120s helped my run times the most at basic. Sprint for a minute and walk for two minutes and repeat through at least 5 cycles. I shaved time off my mile run really quickly doing these things. It may help and breaks up the monotony of doing long steady runs.

Did you try to have a dog run with you? My dog is severely out of shape and he is going through he'll getting in shape. But I know that when he is, he is going to help me run. Actually he sucks at running, stops at random trees suddenly and gets in my way. But once he gets in shape, I have to keep running him or else he will have too much energy. That's my motivation, deterrence of destruction by my dog. I also lose in this deal, he poops larger and more often and eats a crap ton more of his expensive food. Man my posts aren't often off topic and bipolar aren't they?
Keep it up... watch those joints though. I took all last week off and felt so good having rested my old joints this morning I added a couple extra miles... Then went for a swim. Rest is important too.
Yeah, I always do better on a run if I rest two or three days. My best run yet was after taking five full days off to give my knees a break. I went to the doctor yesterday afternoon and they are giving me a referral to have an MRI done on my right ankle. Seems like a good idea to check and make sure it's nothing serious.
Wow! That was fast. I just saw my primary care physician Tuesday and my MRI is scheduled for tomorrow at 1:30. I guess tomorrow I'll find out how serious the damage to my ankle is. That's good. I hate waiting.
