So some of you may know already, but I've had some big news in the last couple of months. For starters as many of you know, my wife and I got married last September. Fast forward to this April, a buddy and I went down to Kentucky on a turkey hunt. When I got home I was presented with the words "I'm pregnant". Awesome! So we are about 16 weeks along now and everything has been going great! Due date is 12/23. So after the big news of the pregnancy, I started to get a bit concerned about the financial aspect of it all. Then when I was on vacation in May, I got a call offering me a promotion! I was previously working as an "Assistant Store Manager" for Wal-Mart, and the position/promotion I accepted is a "Co-Store Manager" position for Wal-Mart. I can potentially double my previous salary with this new position. It looks like it's all going to work out for the best, although I think I am going to have significantly less time to hunt now. So anyways, just wanted to keep you all in the loop and let you all know where I've sorta disappeared to for the time being!
Not to make you nervous or fearful, I gave up hunting for 10 years when my kids were young and I was too busy working to provide for the young family. I tell every about to be parent to cherish the time when the kids are growing because before you know it they are grown, you will be amazed how fast your kids grow up
Congrats and no worries. The game will still be in play when you get back in. Focus on your more important priorities and bring another hunter with you when you come back.
Congrats Pat !!! Glad things are working out for you especially with all the big changes in your life. For a younger guy... you have always come across as level headed, smart, a good guy with a great work ethic. You should do well in life. December babies are the best. I should know as I am one of them !! :p Tim
Awesome, congrats on it all Dec 23rd was when my son was born, its is an amazing feeling, experience and i wish you the best, but Bodi will be 4 this Dec, trust me, cherish every second of it cuz time flies by so fast. Good luck to you and your new life and family.
Awesome.....good for you and your family! For about 12 years, while my kids were small, I probably did not hunt more than 8 or 9 outings a year. It's just the right thing to do for your wife and family. Be a husband and father first. Hunt if time allows. There will always be plenty of time to hunt later. Like NOW that my boys are both off to college in a few weeks! lol
Congrats man I just had my first child and have 2 step kids... everything always works itself out financially so dont worry just think of the bright side of things.. now you will have a life long hunting partner to enjoy memories with... congrats on everything again... do you know if its going to be a boy or girl yet?
Congratulations on all those great blessings! I have a feeling you'll kill a monster this year! Good things come in threes; a promotion, a baby, and a booner!
