I would call it Wednesday chat, but my Wednesday one last week turned into Thursday! But, I enjoyed it! It was neat learning about you guys and things that you do that maybe some of us didn't know.

Today I'll go on and ask - what is everyone career/job?

I do medical billing/receptionist work for a family medical doctor. It is actually very slow for being a doctors office, but does pay the bills.

I've been going to school for a degree in fire service technology which should be done this spring. I will be getting my EMT basic done this fall which hopefully I can get a job on a ambulance around here. Then I just got a job at gander mountain which is going really well and on top of that I'm on a volunteer fire department. So I stay pretty busy.

After all this is done my main goal is, I hope to be on a full time fire department somewhere. :tu:

Best of luck! I grew up in the fire service. Been a volunteer for six years now. (Dad is Cheif, Mom is Captain, brother was a lieutenant). Volunteers are getting far a few anymore! Too many training hours and not enough reward for the newer generations. I see your from IL, but I was told the DC Fire Department is a good one to get into; and unlike most, you don't have to live in the town.

It took me the longest time to ever get that saying when I was younger. But, hey, as long as the doughnuts get you what you want - no biggie!

I'm an Account Coordinator for a locally owned customer service company. Started out as a Customer Service Representative and am now working in the corporate office managing a team of representatives in three different call centers.

Thank you. That's really cool your family is all involved like that. I agree that it's a lot of work that younger kids aren't willing to put in because like you said there isn't that initial reward there.

Did you test over at Columbus recently? I had a few buddies head over to test.

Some day, if the cards turned out right - I'd love to have that title. I'm sure it's a headache you don't need at times, but would be nice to be like "okay, need to go here today" and not worry about if you can make it or not!

I try to make as much money as I can doing the least amount possible... Heckler understands.
The link is in my signature... (and I'd gladly barter my time for a great hunting experience).

it definitely has its ups and downs. A lot of days it can be a headache and I put in a lot of hours. I very rarely take any actual vacations due to the fact that i never know what will come up. But it is very easy for me to cut out on afternoons or mornings to go hunt :) so yeah the freedom is nice. 3 years in and I'm still debating whether it is worth it or not.

I'm a lawyer. I do criminal defense. The advantage is you get paid a lot sooner than if you make your living suing people. So I don't sue people.

I'm home now, doing a little work at the home office and putting lunch together for the girls, leftover miso soup, pork dumplings,
some reheated stir-fried salmon, and strawberries.

Since my wife (sachiko) may not see this, I'll answer for her too. She's a Ph.D. candidate in biology. She has one more year to go. She has the promise of a position if she finishes next Spring.
