After buying my camp this spring, it's been nothing but work so far. Didn't even turkey hunt this spring - first time ever. I haven't even been out with my camera at all. But it'll be worth it when I get this all done. First thing we did was cut down about 80 trees to make for a bigger parking area. We dug all the stumps up and were going to bury them and got into a big pocket of shale. So we used that to line the whole parking area and for the addition. Saved me a bunch of money right there. Next thing we did was put on an awning with a generator shed on the one whole side. This way I can leave the generater in the shed locked up with out having to haul it in and out of camp all the time. Next was to pour a slab for the addition out back. Here's a pic of the back side of my camp before hand. Then got a bunch of loads of driveway mix and brought it all up to grade and tamped it. Then it was building time. Now we are just waiting on the trusses. The company that makes them are busy as heck - it'll be at least 3 weeks. I think I'll take this break to do a little fishing and get out with the camera. Just thought I'd give you an update on camp and fill you all in on why I haven't been posting anything or any pics on here lately. Take care Dave
Love it Dave! Looks like another project is coming together for you What's going to be in the new addition?
Thanks guys. Actually the addition is going to be a bunk room. How it is right now is there is 3 small bedrooms. I'm planning on keeping the 2 outside ones and opening up the middle one and use that as the walkway to where the kitchen / bar area is.
