When I find time, I love sitting on the water with a cold one in the sun. Post up a pic of your boat! Here are some of the ones I have had in the past....I have been told I have MBS.(multiple boat syndrome) This was my first boat I bought for fishing, which turned into bowfishing. 76 Landau 18' Flat Bottom All loaded up in a tourney Sold that, then bought this for walleye fishing. 78 Sea Nymph 16' in process of restoring. Then bought this boat for the motor for the above restoration....and is now just being sold the same way I got it as I found a different motor. Last week I just picked up my first fiberglass boat. I will have this for the family and the Sea Nymph fishing boat for me. Cant wait to get this on the water for the first time this weekend. What rig gets you on the water???
According to my wife I suffer from the same sickness. The only hobby that I love even close to bowhunting whitetails is bass fishing and boating. I've had a few over the years, I still have two as of now..... The first is a 12' semi-v that I turned into a mini bass boat years ago. When I moved to IL I left it in storage in NY, so I don't get to use it anymore. I'm hoping my son can have it for his first boat when he gets old enough. The day I brought her home: After a new transom, steel flex on the bottom, and a few layers of paint on the top: The day my new to me motor showed up: New decal kit for the motor restoration: And a final picture of the boat after the front deck, seats, trolling motor, battery/charger install, etc. The restored big motor isn't in this pic as I was on an electric only lake. It goes about 23mph though with one person, fast enough to be a death trap and make your eyes water. :p After that project I had to get a bigger boat. It's not much but I own the title and it runs great. She's a 97' Ranger 461vs with a 150 VMax on the back. I got very lucky and the boat is in amazing condition for it's age, I got it from an elderly gentleman who was the original owner and kept it in a heated garage year round. I've done a LOT of work to the boat since I got it, she runs great now and I've cashed quite a few checks in it as well. I imagine I'll upgrade to a 20' boat with a 250 at some point but for now she has been on a lot of big water, done some ridiculous long runs in tourneys, and she always gets me home and seems to bring me good luck too.
I've had a few but here's what I'm running now. 2013 Legend Alpha 211. 250 Mercury ProXS, duel Power Poles, HDS Touch 12 at console and Elite 7 HDI at bow. To be honest I can't wait until December and order the 2014 Legend V20. "Live Life at Full Draw"
Here is my latest hole in the water I pour money into I am in the process of getting it setup to my liking... If it doesn't pan out I'll find another one next spring.
My wife and I love to boat. Our Duck/fishing boat. Our ski boat that stays in a storage shed at the lake. This was the day we bought it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk
We're not really boaters. We just use a 'boat' to shoot stuff. The Central I̶l̶l̶i̶n̶o̶i̶s̶ Utah Rough Fish Control Unit
This was my boat for a few years for Salt water fishing, i was in the process of restoring it, then decided to commit all my energy and money towards bowhunting and sold it! No regrets. 1967 Chris Craft commander 32' twin screw 352's the truck is gone too........(due to a 120 mile round trip commute)
I am looking at a boat now... it will be my first one. It's a 15 ft semi V (no motor). It has a trailer and in pretty good shape.... except... It has a crack in the bottom. I haven't seen it yet, but apparently it's a pretty big crack. I can get it for scrap aluminum cost. My buddy doesn't want to deal with it or want a project and needs some quick cash. I have another buddy who can weld aluminum. does anyone have any experience that it can be fixed?
Looks like a Rinker? That thing is a beast. Indy, there are mixed reviews on welding the aluminum on a boat. Can you get a pic of the crack? When I bought my SN, I didn't see these two cracks. First thing to do, whether you weld or not, is to drill a hole at the end of the cracks to keep it from getting worse. Crack 1 - Huge Crack 2 - Very leaky - I drilled the end of the crack out. Then filled with a blind rivet bedded in 3M 5200. Then I bought Marine Tex Epoxy, duct taped the backside and filled in/covered all leaky areas. This stuff gets rock hard.
Once that cured, I covered the entire bottom in Fasco Steelflex Epoxy. This boat does not leak anymore.
A Rinker? I'm not sure what that is. The camo boat is my baby. 2013 Xpress HD16DB with a 40 horse mercury on it. It will run for a flat bottom. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk
