If you just paid for it, how do you know if you were scammed yet?

I have found some great deals on eBay but always check seller feedback before making a purchase that seems to good to be true . So far I've had great experiences but one never knows .

As for deals on deer stand , there have been a lot of stands being closed out by the manufacturer and the deals on stands through wholesalers have been great . Chances are the deal was real and the seller is still making a good profit , I know I am :)

If that was the case , eBay will hold the funds that you paid until delivery is confirmed so you should be fine .

I'd say it's likely there just aren't many people looking for stands on ebay right now so you got a good deal. They will go for more in late August and early September. Right before the season. Same goes for trail cameras for the most part.

Now that I make more money, I am often hesitant to purchase high dollar items off of ebay.

I could have saved $70 on ray ban aviators, but with so many counterfeits out there, I shelled out the extra money to Rayban to buy directly from them. The cost of shipping it back and incurring any fees and fighting really outweighed simply buying it.

Yea you should be fine. I never had any issues. If you do run into issues you can just open a case with ebay

I've never had any issues with any online transaction.
The only close call was when I bought a set of headers off a guy. We basically sent at the same time. I paid him with a money order and had the type of postage that requires a signature. Well he didn't know what he was doing and threw the notification card away.
It took a week of me sending instructions (basically go to the post office to and sign for it) for him to actually go get it.
He was getting upset but didn't blow up about it, which is good, because it was his fault.

    Lesson learned.

I've bought tons of car parts and hunting stuff from personal ads online and never had an issue.

I am an Ebay junkie, I have never been burned. Tons of good deals to be had. Hell I scored a pair of $150 boots NIB for $0.99 a couple weeks ago.

I never had any eBay issue that caused me any concern, as a buyer or selling. I have gotten quite a few deals seemed to go to be true and they worked out fine...
Search for a thread called Ebay enigma ....

I've been a eBay member since 2001. I have completed 1000s of transactions both as a buyer & a seller. I've only had 3 bad transactions in that time. I would say that EBay - Buyer or Seller protections is a huge PITA if you ever have to make a claim. There are also scams out there where eBay will refuse to honor the "protection" policy.

EG. Thief hacks a legit eBay account with great feedback to advertise a new product at a stellar price. Thief then uses a stolen credit card to order the item from a online merchant and uses your ship to address.

You paid for the product and received the product so in ebays eyes that is a successful transaction and their buyer protection is void. However the owner of the CC disputes the charge and the online merchant comes after you because the thief used your bill to address. This is the exact reason I have boycotted Cabelas because they insisted I pay for an item twice and sent it to a collections agency which put a ding on my credit report.

I ended up having to file a complaint with the State Attorneys office to get it resolved. What a PITA!
