This should start a nice discussion. If the owners of a business don't allow guns inside their business, that's their right as owners. The owners right not to allow guns in their establishment out-trumps the rights of the gun carrying citizen. Seems like common sense to me.
You said the same thing the article did in a different way. "HOUSTON — Companies, customers and others critical of Texas gun rights advocates who have brought military-style assault rifles into businesses as part of demonstrations supporting "open carry" gun rights now have a surprising ally: the National Rifle Association." It's just stating that it's surprising considering what the NRA typically stands for.
Yeah, it must be an advocate group or something, I haven't heard of them. Nevertheless, I think the business should decide and if they have no opinion then the 2nd ammendment applies. Either way, I still shrill every time I see an article that says "military-style assault rifles".
It's possible to show support for gun rights while also displaying some common sense while doing it. I agree with the NRA's statement. Some people who think they are helping the cause are actually hurting it.
Yeah I mean when I'm having dinner with my family I like to see 30 guys dressed in tatical gear, carrying AR15s rolling up in there. Doesn't make the situation uncomfortable at all. I carry everywhere but work, concealed. Some people just aren't comfortable with guns. That doesn't mean they are against them. They just don't like them. I agree with the NRA as well on this. It's a careless action and drawing attention to their group in the wrong way.
Since when did the NRA care about common sense and manners? I mean, they routinely promote pro-gun rallies in the very cities where gun tragedies just occurred. JUST occurred.
I support the NRA and have for years. Great organization and they do a lot for the sport of hunting directly and indirectly. You can't make everyone happy.
How about putting the blame where it belongs, the slimeballs and dirtbags that use them to take anothers life. You and a couple others on this site have to be some of the biggest bleeding heart, illogical bozos I have seen in a long time.
Probably the same amount of care all the bleeding heart anti's that show up at the same places to say "see, see if you'd let us have our way this wouldn't happen."
you must not read theblaze.com . Open Carry Texas is the subject of a story at least once a week. As to the NRA haters on this site...I can just about guarandamntee that we would not have any hunting rights at all if it weren't for the NRA.
Those guys are idiots bringing in assault rifles and such into restaurants. It looks stupid and serves 0 purpose. Dumb.
