Seeing the "where would you move" thread got me thinking. What do you love about your state? Minnesota: 1. 11,000 lakes (we're too modest in our state slogan), Minnesota has more shoreline than California, Hawaii and Florida combined. 2. Meat raffles 3. We excel at relaxing: everyone has a cabin at the lake, or knows someone who has a cabin at the lake. 4. The MN State Fair is the largest 12-day event in North America. 5. Majority of people truly are "Minnesota Nice". 6. In Minnesota, the mullet doesn’t exist. There is only The Hockey Haircut. 7. Duck Duck Gray Duck 8. Tater Tot Hotdish 9. Honeycrisp Apples 10. Eternal Optimism - In Minnesota, things will always get better. 11. Potlucks 12. BWCA - Boundary Waters Canoe Area
1. Various Outdoor Parks, Hiking, Kayaking, Fishing (great outdoor recreation) 2. Great teaching state (for now) 3. Far enough away from the crazy people in NJ, NY, but only a few hours drive to the coast. 4. Taxes are middle of the line. Not NJ or Cali crazy, but not mountain west region low. That's all I've got for now:D
North Carolina: 1. I met my wife here. 2. We can Bowhunt on Private Land all during Hunting Season 3. In a good year, we get all 4 seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter) 4. Some would say barbeque, but I don't eat it. 5. From Raleigh, you can be at the beach in 2 hours or in the mountains in 2 hours 6. Not one reported case of CWD 7. Mineral sites are legal 8. Great College Basketball 9. Low Crime Rate - Great place to raise kids 10. Lots of land still undeveloped 11. Incredible lakes for Bass Fishing 12. Conservative state
Louisiana: - the food (although I do not live in cajun/creole region) - there is a festival every weekend - NOLA - My family is located here. That is about it...
Michigan: 1. Detroit Hockey 2. Detroit Baseball 3. The Great Lakes 4. 11,000 Inland lakes 5. Can use my left hand as a map 6. Diverse Wildlife 7. Cherrys 8. DA U.P. 9. The Weather 10. All 4 Seasons

I flew back and forth from Tangipahoa Parish for about four months. Some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life.
I always found this funny about Minnesota. Wisconsin has 15,074 lakes and Minnesota has 11,842. So the best thing Minnesota has to use as their state slogan, Wisconsin has more of. Just saying.
1. Grouse 2. Northwoods 3. Supper Clubs 4. It is OK to drink a lot of beer 5. Fish Fry's 6. Diverse 7. The Green Bay Packers.
I like more about your state than mine. But what's a supper club? NC -I'm close to GA, 15 miles. -uhhhh -mountains are neat to look at, not to hunt in. -thats all I've got.
I found this doing a search. Speaking of Minnesota, it has 15,291 lakes, but only 11,842 have names. Wisconsin has 15,074 lakes, but only 6,044 have names. If they’d come up with 6,000 more names, they’d be ahead of Minnesota, wouldn’t they?
I know this is going to come off the wrong way and a bit offensive to a few on this site (I apologize in advance as I truly am just making an observation). Why do many of you live in IL? It seems that the state (from and outsiders perspective) is terrible. Then those living in it (especially on here) sort of reaffirm that idea. Heck, Christine up and moved out :D So is it family and jobs? Surely it can't JUST be the hunting. :D
1. Most of the people we would never want to come here, just fly over. 2. Safe, small towns 3. The beef is exceptional 4. Neighbors still look out for each other 5. Low cost of living 6. Public education is good 7. The deer hunting is not too bad 8. El Bait Shop
