Seeing the "where would you move" thread got me thinking.

What do you love about your state?

    Minnesota:

    1. 11,000 lakes (we're too modest in our state slogan), Minnesota has more shoreline than California, Hawaii and Florida combined.
    2. Meat raffles
    3. We excel at relaxing: everyone has a cabin at the lake, or knows someone who has a cabin at the lake.
    4. The MN State Fair is the largest 12-day event in North America.
    5. Majority of people truly are "Minnesota Nice".
    6. In Minnesota, the mullet doesn’t exist. There is only The Hockey Haircut.
    7. Duck Duck Gray Duck
    8. Tater Tot Hotdish
    9. Honeycrisp Apples
    10. Eternal Optimism - In Minnesota, things will always get better.
    11. Potlucks
    12. BWCA - Boundary Waters Canoe Area

    1. Various Outdoor Parks, Hiking, Kayaking, Fishing (great outdoor recreation)
    2. Great teaching state (for now)
    3. Far enough away from the crazy people in NJ, NY, but only a few hours drive to the coast.
    4. Taxes are middle of the line. Not NJ or Cali crazy, but not mountain west region low.

    That's all I've got for now:D

I flew back and forth from Tangipahoa Parish for about four months. Some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life.

I always found this funny about Minnesota. Wisconsin has 15,074 lakes and Minnesota has 11,842. So the best thing Minnesota has to use as their state slogan, Wisconsin has more of. Just saying.

I like more about your state than mine. But what's a supper club?

I found this doing a search.

Speaking of Minnesota, it has 15,291 lakes, but only 11,842 have names.

Wisconsin has 15,074 lakes, but only 6,044 have names. If they’d come up with 6,000 more names, they’d be ahead of Minnesota, wouldn’t they?

I know this is going to come off the wrong way and a bit offensive to a few on this site (I apologize in advance as I truly am just making an observation).

Why do many of you live in IL? It seems that the state (from and outsiders perspective) is terrible. Then those living in it (especially on here) sort of reaffirm that idea. Heck, Christine up and moved out :D

So is it family and jobs?

Surely it can't JUST be the hunting. :D

For me, it's family. The deer hunting isn't even that great now, at least in my location.
