So we are having new windows put in. One of the contractor's workers took a dump in our bathroom without asking. He just went and did it. What do you think? Right or wrong?

Should he of asked if he can use our bathroom?

Note: I would not be surprised if I am sent to the store when I get home to buy a new toilet seat.

    I would have 0 issues.

Why would you need to do that?

Could be worse. My parents had an addition built on about 15 years ago. Apparently they didn't want to track sawdust/mud into the house, so they went in an empty joint compound bucket in the back of the garage. Problem was, they didn't bother telling anyone, just kept a lid on it. My dad noticed the bucket shortly after the project was done. He didn't know what it was and as he was taking it outside to the curb for garbage, the lid popped open. He was less than thrilled. I'm sure he would have rather had them use the bathroom. :)

WOW!! If the house is finished and being lived in, common courtesy would be to ASK to use your restroom. It is YOUR house, YOU are the paying customer. That is pretty tacky and VERY unprofessional IMO.

Better your wife then you. I would rather not have him not announce he's going to take a dump and just go. As long as he was already in the house.

I would not want to be charged for and have a porta-potty rental sitting in my yard and usually the homeowner or contractor would talk about this before the work starts.

I know this is a different circumstance... But when I need to take a dump at work, I take a dump.

What's a man to do if he REALLY has to go and is working in someones home - Hit up the tree in the back yard, grab some leaves, and make himself comfortable?

Ask the homeowner would be a start.

They should ask first period. If they are doing work inside the house then it would be hard to stop but at the same time I would not want people to wander around poking their head in any room they wish, that's how things can come up missing. If they are outside working then they surely should not be just barging in without asking.

I guess since your wife was there they should ask her.

But if nobody were home what are they realistically supposed to do? Waste time driving to a convenience store or something everytime they need to use the bathroom?

When contractors have worked at my home I assumed they would need to use my bathroom.
