Well this sucks. This is such crony capitalism at it's finest and it pisses me off. I know the market will eventually sort itself out in the future, but I'm afraid the internet is about to suck for awhile.

Right when I cancel cable/satellite TV too, so I feel like Comcast is about to screw me royally.

Of course they are. They're losing ground in the cable world but still control most of the Internet, which is what people are turning to as their cable alternative. Lose revenue in one area, jack up costs in the other.

I may not like it but if Comcast was my business that's what I'd do.

Will A.T. pay to have BHC slow down?

I swear people of every race, color, sex, and financial situation have forgotten the principles and ideals on which our country was founded.

I have to say I am surprised at this but am mixed on how I feel about it. The internet was never free as lots of people think it should be. Maybe the shared info and content is but the connections never were. We all had to pay for the use of the pipes that someone paid to have built. It's also got to be managed. Similar to traffic on a highway or else nothing travels well. As far as paying a premium price for better service, we all enjoy it when we can take advantage of it. I pay more to overnight a package than I do to send I via 5 day ground. I'd say this is fairly similar. I can tell this will not be a well liked post but still something worth a thought.

I would be completely fine with this ruling if I had more choices for ISPs. But since the government has already helped create these ISP monopolies, it is impossible for competition to arise from smaller start ups. Comcast has no competition in most area, so they can do whatever the hell they want. And they have no competition because the government helped them.

Google Fiber is a warning shot to all of this, but Google doesn't want to become a national ISP. But that is what it is going to take. An already established billion dollar company to come in and try to change things. But even then, that will take decades to build the infrastructure.

It really saddens me that the majority of people have no idea how this will affect them. Everyone should really care about this. We all use the internet daily and this will change how we use the internet from now on, and it is not going to be for the better. We all complain how cable TV is packaged, well your internet is about to be packaged the same way.
