I'll preface this post by saying I have NEVER cared about lawns. I grew up with most of my yard being intermingled with the woods all around our house anyways, so it was never a very lush growing yard. We just mowed and that was it. Now into my 5th year at my house in a more residential setting, and after being pretty hard on my yard through the years for a variety of reasons (driving my dads tractor over it plenty, ripping out old landscaping, bringing in fill, having a concrete truck drive through, a boom truck loading pallets of retaining wall block, etc., has all played a toll on various parts of my yard. I've found myself looking at my yard thinking I should do something to it, but I don't really care. Does that make me crazy? I'm usually really particular about the work I do at my house, but my yard is one of those areas I just can't seem to make myself care. So where do you fall? Is this you? Or are you Hooker's neighbor?
I cut my grass as minimally often as I have to. Otherwise there are few things in life I care less about than how my lawn looks.
I care to a point. Always fertilize, mow before too tall, weeds down, fill in spots etc.,. Sent from my SCH-I200 using Tapatalk
I care plenty. I make it an extension of the house and try to make very inch of it usable. Ie. French doors off of the living room or Master bed room to make the rooms flow out in the yard. Master bed rooms have private courtyards. Landscaping is the icing on the cake.
Ditto, but I live next too two retired guys who live for their lawns, I drive them nuts. I tell them do not get one drop of water on my lawn, I go for brown
I owned a law care business up until last year so while I never actually did much of the mowing myself, it was ingrained in me to care. Haha
I care about the grass. Nobody touches it but me. It drives me more crazy to see anything out of place, like toys, stupid ornaments, etc.
I just put my Bonus S out a week ago, so my yard looks like utter crap at the moment. Damn spring clover.
The guys that do my lawn do a good job, not only cutting and trimming but also fertilizing and weeding. They trim all the edges and do a spring a fall clean ups...it's a bargain considering the time I save supposed to doing it myself and it frees up a little time for things I enjoy more.
I'm just glad when I can get it cut before I have to rake it. As for fertilizer and all that, why in the heck would I want to create more work for myself?!?!?! LOL That said, I do cut it on an angle now and then.......
I really don't care. I live on a gravel road with my closest neighbor being over a half mile away. I'm just not worried about keeping up with the Jones's. Just not my thing. I Mow about 2 1/2 acres with my tractor and 6' finish mower. Occasionally I'll pull out the weedeater and trim it up. That being said, right now half of my yard is dirt right now. I'm in the process of leveling it out to make it a little more usable. Thinking if I can keep it dirt for most of the summer, I'll only have to mow half of my yard
I don't but boy does my wife! Therefore, I mow, bag, trim, fertilize, treat for dandelions and broadleaves just for a tad less static.
Glad you brought this up! I think I need to "level out" my yard. Haha. I HATE lawn work. But once I get the contractor out to fix my basement I won't have a lot to mow! Can't wait. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
I hated it, now I don't have a yard at all....so i miss it. I'm pretty meticulous on our ball fields at school. Fertilized, limed, sprayed, and striped to look even better! (Pretty easy since its not my money though)
