If you could choose which professional sport you would play what would it be? My pro's and cons Football: Highest intensity. Greatest true sport to play. Season is fairly short Highest rate of injury. Career doesn't last long Basketball: Moderate season. If you are not one of the starters you don't do much for the team. Paid very well for what you do. Baseball: Long season. Career can go a long time. Low risk of bad injuries. Lots of downtime waiting for others to take batting practice, rain delays, and sitting on the bench, not your turn to be starting pitcher or bullpen. Hockey: ?? Soccer: ?? Tennis: It is a one man show so you work as hard as you want without hurting the team. Golf: Same as tennis. Great sport to play. Need nerves of steel to win. Autoracing: ?? My choice would be baseball #1 with golf #2 and football #3. I love to play baseball and really like to play golf (just not very good at it). Football would be great but not sure I would want the toll on my body.
Baseball would be my #1 for sure, I really enjoyed playing the game. The long season would bother me, baseball players also get paid a lot of money. I agree the toll football would take but it was a blast to play under the lights Friday nights.
Baseball? 162 game season before a playoff that consists of 7 game series? Gross. You'd be away from your family more than you would be with them with that kind of schedule. My favorite sport to both play and watch is basketball by a landslide. That said, even it's schedule is long and grinding. If we are picking and choosing our sports superpowers at will, I'm a golfer to the level of Tiger or Phil. You aren't tied in to contracts with teams. You pick and choose which tournaments you play in throughout the year. Purses are huge, endorsements even bigger. You don't have to be on the road 24/7 away from family. And as Tiger proved, the women come easy. lol
So, I would never have come even close to being on a professional level of any sport... but.... Back in HS, I rocked at co-ed open gym floor hockey and for one summer I ruled the girl's soccer field. If I went for the soccer ball, all the other girls just stopped. Until they learned, I left a satisfying trail of bodies in my path. LOL I was good at sports that required no finesse. I completely sucked at volleyball, basketball (too many fouls), golf, tennis..... sigh....
Baseball, that's a easy choice. Played every year I could growing up (k-12) and somewhat continued to play when joined Marines, softball almost counts ha, the long season bother me in the least. For most of the teams its over right during deer season ha.
NAAAIIILLLLED IT!......if the floors open to any sport im looking for optimum pay at minimal risk and time away from family.....pro golfer is the answer
If you could choose which professional sport you would play what would it be? I did choose and PRCA was a Blast! Love them Horses and Praise God I can still function. Now I am a Professional Bow Hunter. I am just not famous and boot strappin it in the Backcountry.
I would have to go with golf. I spent a few years working for Hank Haney coaching and getting to know a lot of the professionals and always had such a great time hanging out with them and getting to hit golf balls with them when they would be in the Dallas area for the Byron Nelson and Colonial!
Baseball. Easy. It's my favorite sport, great time of year to be working, and my family would travel with me. Most likely if you would retire at 35 or 36, or "early" by baseball standards, your kid wouldn't be in grade school yet (I'm almost 30 with no kids as it is). Plus your "off" season is...well...hunting season :D Sent from Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
Hockey 100%. Played all my life as a goalie and its awesome because you are the man who makes the difference. Also, the fact that you are constantly cooled down from the ice. I don't understand any other sport other than hockey really.
