Figured I'd kick off a Stanley cup playoff thread I'm a huge homer so I have to go with my life long boys, the Boston Bruins! man do they look good, and just seem to be ramping it up as we get to the playoffs. I do not see a team in the east that can stop them, they are so solid all the way around, and they have incredible depth in there lines, and in goal. in the west this year looks like St. Louis is a real contender....
They are strong for sure. I could see Pitt hanging with them though. I'm a Rangers fan. The only hope I have for them to make any noise is the best goalie in the game (lundquist) catches fire and throws the team on his back! Been known to happen in the playoffs with the hottest goalie taking their team deep. They don't have enough to get all the way though.
I am rooting for the Hawks cuz of my home town boy, Kane Next are the Blues as they are Andrew's favorite team. Last is whoever plays Boston....I hate them...they are evil
I would love the WILD to win it all, but it won't happen. I believe it will be Detroit. They will beat the Bruins in 5 games, in the first round.
I believe this will be the series of the playoffs right off the bat ... but the Blues HAVE to get their heads out of their butts to make it a series

Wings or Blues will lift the cup in the end. Bruins are good but, Wings have been in the number one spot many times before and its a hard spot to hold to the finish.
I gotta pull for my Pens, but I just don't have any confidence in them right now. They should beat Columbus, but I'll be shocked if they get past NYR/PHI
I'm a pretty die hard wings fan. I think bean town is gonna have their hands full with the wings. Especially if Z comes back if it is a long series. They have handled the bruins pretty good this year with out their top players.
Yes Boston is definitely going to have there hands full, Detroit is the one team I did not want the bruins to face, for one reason or another like you stated, Detroit took 3 out of 4 games against the bruins this season. Bruins have a lot of depth and every line produces, even the 4th line, I think it's going to pay off in this series and the rest of the playoffs. Can't wait for playoff hockey!!! nothing else like it!
