Lakes are still frozen here so no open water fishing for a few more weeks. Plus sport fishing is closed where I fish till may.

Not yet but really really really have the bug. Ice came off this week, raining bad today and tomorrow so nothing. Will pull the boat out next weekend and make sure it survived the winter. Trout opens the following weekend and I have the week off. Not much of a trout fisherman but wont be able to bring the boat this year, so will spend the week fishing skinny boney fish and scouting for thunder chicks. Then, bass fish will be the target till bow season!!!!!

Spent most of yesterday and part of today working on the boat. Finally wrapped up a jack plate install project that I've been meaning to do for months and got a few other things done too. Have more work I want to do, but the boat is water ready now.

The river in front of the house is wide open and has been for at least a week, there were several boats on it this weekend. My neighbor was out last weekend but wasn't able to mark any fish. I'm going to play some hooky on Friday if the weather is decent so I can put her in the water and explore a bit plus make some runs to get the new jack plate dialed in. Assuming I can get the motor setup right I'll do some fishing over the weekend too if the weather permits.

Also today I drove around several of the local lakes. Some of the smaller lakes were wide open by shore, a good 10-20' between shore and the ice. With the rain this week and any luck with the forecast we might see some of the smaller lakes open by weekend after next.
