I am looking at selling my truck this summer and possible buying a large SUV. I have a regular cab truck and would like something with more room and comfort and will probably be starting a family in the next couple years. I am looking to buy used, probably something from the early to mid-2000's. Been looking at Yukons, Suburbans, Expeditions, and Tahoes. Would really like something with third row seating and something that has enough power to bust through the snow and occasionally pull someone out of a ditch. Gas mileage isn't a huge concern because most of my miles go on my car. Any of you have any of these vehicles or know the pros and cons of each? Any problems that any of these are prone to?

I have a 2004 Tahoe. The only issue I have had with it is the AC compressor. It has shot crap twice. I guess this is a well known issue. Something about them not getting enough air and overheating. Other than that is has served me well. I will say that I was always a truck guy before this. Although a SUV does have it's benefits NOTHING can replace the bed of a pickup. Now that my kids are getting older I am going back to a full size truck. Probably a crew w/ a standard bed. If I am going to get a truck just as well go big!
My dad put over 250K on his Tahoe. They really liked it, but ended up trading it and a '91 Sierra in on a new pickup. The Sierra was over 275K. My wife and I are currently saving up for a Buick Enclave
I don't know much about them but the new Dodge Durango looks really sharp. On another note my fiance's mom and dad have a Chevy Suburban and I liked it quite a bit as well. It's got a lot of room to work with having the third row seating that can be folded up. It's got a lot of extras as well and has been pretty comfortable on some longer road trips.
I have an '02 Yukon and love it. I will get another after this, best riding vehicle i've ever had. We recently started looking at getting a newer one. Holy sticker shock. All vehicles have their known common issues. Yukon had a fuel pump and last week replaced the rear main seal for an oil leak $750. My power door locks quit working this year and thats a known issue. But that is it. Pulls my bass boat better than my '03 silverado (which i'm disappointed in). We have 140K miles on it now. My silverado keeps nickel & diming me to death but I bought it with 80K on it. Dont know what last owner did but it never seemed to have the power I thought it would.
If you want a trail/snow vehicle nothing and I mean nothing beats a Land Rover. You gotta get a good mid to late '90's model(Discovery 1 or 2)that has been well taken care of. If you can find one you'll be happy with it. They are full-time 4wd with a high and low range differential lock. I would not by one after model year 99/00 because they have the same problems as the rest of the vehicles made after that, and that is way too many damn computer controlled systems!
