Well I have successfully torn my meniscus....had the MRI today and then spoke with the doctor. Seems its an old injury that has now gotten worse. Friday morning it will hopefully be fixed.

Good luck Matt. You will sleep right through surgery. Just take it easy on crutches afterwards and don't push it. I had the same thing done in June and doing so much better now!

They said based on the severity I'd be in a brace for 6-8 weeks?

Yep I was walking the next day, I certainly wasn't running though. Did need help up and down stairs for a couple of days. But long and short of it walking better than before the surgery.

6-8 weeks is more severe then mine was. So you probably won't walk the next day like I did. I was back to work in 3 weeks. But hope all goes well for you.

Better now then befor or during season. I had to have my wrist operated on the second week of Oct the first year I lived in Kansas, Second year I tore my inner thigh right befor season, so I only got to bowhunt 2 of the 4 years I lived in Kansas (the first time).
Second time I lived in Kansas for 2 seasons, passed up shots on several smaller bucks and 2 big ones with broke up racks and then had a heart attack that ended my first season. So out of 6 seasons I got to hunt 3. Kansas was ruff on me man!

Prayers sent for a speedy recovery on your operation.

Words of wisdom after having been through three knee surgeries. Elevate and Ice, then do it again and again and again, especially the first 72 hours. Keep contracting the muscles around your knee while it is elevated.

Prayers sent. You will be fine. 3 scopes n 2 acl reconstructions on right knee. Ice and elevate do not over do it. Listen to the Doc he went to school for 10 to 12 years for a reason.
