I graduated high school in 1995, so we had some unbelievable music. My favorites from late 80's to mid 90's would be:

    Pearl Jam
    Nirvana
    Stone Temple Pilots
    GNR
    Motley Crue

I don't listen to much music later than 2000 other than Jack Johnson and some of Pearl Jam's later works.

For overall body of work, I would have to vote Pearl Jam as the best band of my generation.

Kind Sir, we have no limitations in this thread. Consider it everyone's personal blank canvass of rock music that will form the greater BH.com collage of rock.

Better keep TJF outta here than!

BTW I thought you said Nirvana was the GOAT... Now Pearl Jam? Pearl Jam is better than Nirvana, but I give Nirvana bonus points for producing Grohl and in turn the Foo Fighters and American badass Jason Everman.

    Scott my bro.

There is a difference between the GOAT...and your favorite. Kurt Cobain did alot of things and SLTS is still the greatest song ever...but as a whole, Pearl Jam is a better band.

And Dave Grohl is the baddest mother in rock music since the 1970s. Nobody else can compare to him (well, maybe Vedder and Cornell).

It's hard far me to narrow down to five as I listen to a lot of different types of rock but here it is...

I have saw Grohl and Chris Cornell in concert. While Cornell's voice was very powerful and impressive in person, the Foo Fighters put on an awesome show. Advantage Grohl.
