Once again, in the words of Ricky Ricardo "Someone's got some "splaining to do!" I hope they convene an ethics board hearing for the officer that dispatched the fawn.

First, the couple from Illinois are morons for taking the fawn out of the wild because they "thought" it may be orphaned. Second, what a waste of taxpayer money coordinating a raid of that size for a fawn. Two people could have gone there, asked for the deer and took it.
(1) The worker that accepted the deer at the no kill shelter should be fired. (2) Whoever arranged that many agents should be fired. (3) Whoever elected to not send the fawn or who had control to send the fawn to a wildlife rehabilitator should be fired. It's the blind leading the blind and we pay for it.
That's why state and the federal govt. are broke. You don't need that many people to retrieve a baby deer. One or two would have done the job. Instead, they sent in more personnell than used for a drug bust. WTF??!!!
Yup that was a bit of an overkill to go get one fawn. I agree with frenchbritt, not sure why they didn't try to work something to send the fawn to a wildlife rehab location if there is one in the area.
