What is it about MLB players and mullets? Couldn't help but notice some crazy hair last night at the home run derby. I thought the mullet had finally been put to rest, but it carries on its legacy in professional baseball.

Lincecum has a mullet. The pic of Jeff Samardzija (sp?) is definately a mullet. So is the the Cardinal player on the right. I think thats Mitchell Boggs.

I can't imagine playing baseball in 100 plus degrees wearing long hair and a full beard. Am I the only one that thinks these guys are a little off their rockers?

I know that softball doesn't compare to baseball, but I'm still out there in the same kind of heat and have no problems. I have longer hair and a pretty big beard and I have no issues. Actually, the sweat from my head/face gets into my beard and when the breeze blows through my beard it is quite cooling.

The beard is like a built-in facial radiator. Keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
