I bought one for my wife last year( 2012) , she loves it. No issues at all. I think they are an excellent choice.
Never owned a Pilot, but we've had (2) Civics, (1) Accord, (1)CRV and all have been fantastic vehicles. Honda is good stuff.
Being employed by Toyota i must reccommend a highlander over a pilot. Being a die hard Ford guy who's Grandfather retired from, I would say get an escape over both of them... really, and escape or explorer is the route I would go. But since that wasn't the question, the pilot is a really good vehicle. My ex's parent's have had one for a very long time with no issues.
If they weren't such an abomination on the eyes more people would likely be driving them. Honda rarely puts out a bad vehicle (or engine for that matter).
Holy ****...a whole page of 100% agreemant on a FOREIGN product. Have i died? Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
Check out the all new 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. Wife just purchased one. SL AWD, black tan leather. Most of the bells and whistles. She had a highlander and it was ok, but for the money it was lacking in basic creature comforts like an outside temperature gauge, split third row etc. The new pathfinder is a glorified wagon, get great mileage based on real world driving, is a beast in snow(based on real driving) and is pretty pleasing on the eye compared to the honda pilot(I have to believe its being restyled soon). If you can wait the 2014 Highlander looks to be pretty nice as well.
Honda makes a great vehicle. Definitely great at the price point. I wanted a nice looking vehicle with reliability, so we went with a 4runner, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?:D
I know nothing about Honda's plant locations, but be careful. I drive a Toyota Tundra, built in San Antonio. My previous pick up was a Chevrolet, built in Mexico.
The Honda Pilot is over 70% made in good old Merica... I bought my wife one in 2011 after a lot of research and thus far she and I love it! I would buy a Pilot over any so-called American made SUV. By the way I also own a 2012 Toyota Tacoma which is 75% made in Merica, that's better than any American made truck.
Never had a pilot, but test drove a few...only criticism I had was road noise. Seemed louder than my old Expedition (may she rest in peace).
Any vehicle honda makes has lasting quality. Myself, I looked at all the SUVs a couple years ago to replace my wifes 2000 Voyager minivan and decide on the Kia Sorento. Built at a new facility in Georgia, with a 10yr/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. We now have 42K and there isnt the smallest leak or stain on the underside of it. I work on a utility fleet of 3000+ vehicles and have never been more impressed by anything on 4 wheels.
My wife and I are in the market for a new family vehicle and we are teetering between the Pilot and the CRV.
