I'm having issues with my GoPro. Before I throw it out of this tree I thought I'd ask.
When I push the power button the red light on the back blinks anywhere from 1 to as many as 10 times. Then the red light stays on solid and the camera won't do anything. This happens with or without the backpack.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
    Thank You in advance.

When you first turn the camera the red light will blink and beep 3 times. When you turn it off the red light will blink and beep 7 times.

When the camera is in the process of taking video the red light will have a steady blink.

When in the WiFi mode the blue light will do the same. 3 blinks on 7 blinks off

You can adjust the settings to turn lights and beeps off

Yes, when it is working correctly it does, but it sometimes blinks then does nothing at all. It is just like it locks up. That is where my frustration lies.

Have you tried a battery pull? Also format your SD card with the GoPro.

Battery pull a BUNCH. Format, no. I'll try that. Thank You.

Welcome to the wonderful world of GoPro. I've owned several, I own two currently. I have a love/hate relationship with the things. The 3+ series seems to be the most stable of the ones that I have had. I had several of the Hero 2's and had nothing but problems with them locking up on me at the most inconvenient times. GoPro sent me several different ones and every one of them was problematic. So far I've only had one 3+ that gave me fits and GoPro replaced it.

Thank you. I tried it when I got home this evening and it locked up again on me. I didn't have time to call them today but I am going to tomorrow. I sat in the stand for 20 minutes Saturday morning trying to get it to come on. Pulled battery over and over and all it did was lock up.

Also if you have not already make sure you get the latest firmware update. That might help.

I did look for that and it is the most current update but Thank You for mentioning that.
