So I made this cause I just wanted to get some use to editing before September 5th...I don't wanna be up all night editing bambi getting killed . Great video! I'm getting so pumped for this season. I think it was well put together, better than 95% of what you see on YouTube. My critique, if you are looking for a more "professional look": 1- Watch audio levels. Making sure there isn't a huge difference between the music and spoken words can be hard, but worth it. Consistent audio is probably one of the hardest parts of editing. 2- Transitions. They are fun and easier to do in most software programs, but they quickly become distracting. The constant use of the swipes, fades, zooms, etc start to push it towards an amature look. You can use them, but do so sparingly. Most TV shows, movies, even professional hunting shows hardly ever use them. A place like the photo preview is a good place to use them, but then stick to one style and use just slight variants, like the zoom (switching the direction of the zoom between photos). 3- Timelapse. They are awesome, but make sure to keep them short. I'd recommend keeping any single one under 15 second. 30 for sure. They can either be sped up or edited to cut down on time. I think when it goes longer from one angle, people get bored. Again, you video was great! These are just some nitpicky things I thought I'd share. Looking forward to seeing more from the season!
Fitz did a good job...the range safety officer in me also would say don't video yourself with a gun on the ground with the muzzle pointed your direction.... :D

Not a bad first video at all, Interviews are tough, but try to engage the camera more and dont look off into the distance. I struggle with this alot as well. If your using POV cams like go pro, dont keep the sound. It doesn't capture it in high enough quality. Dub some music or use an external mic from another camera to capture it. Learned that the hard way as well. Like Fitz said, watch the transitions. Back away from the temptation of using them alot. Be careful with music copyrights too. Once again, cool video!
Good video man - I liked it. I agree with acting more natural around the camera and engaging more...its awkward I know.
I stay away from music honestly outside of the one song I have written permission to use...otherwise there are some copyright free instrumental sites out there where you can use them as long as you are not profiting for them....others yet if you just give them credit.
I love some of the instrumental stuff. Like heartland bow hunter stuff jacks me up. I just need to figure out where to find it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
