Do you guys prefer a screw in or strap on camera arm? Why?

Muddy arm with their ratchet strap base. I'm not going to trust a screw into wood to hold up $4,000 worth of camera equipment 25 feet above the ground.

Strap. Depending on where you hunt, it may be illegal to screw into the trees.

Lightning Camera Arm using a ratchet strap. With the camera investment I have I can't trust a screw to hold a camera arm into the tree.

Thanks for that. I had not heard of Lightning Camera Arms. I will be getting one of these.

My arm can be done with either. I use the screw in step in all my permanent stand locations. It helps me set up quieter. It holds my arm and equipment just fine. I have zero worries or I wouldn't use it that way.

Muddy has several options for strap on camera arms, I use the Boss Hawg but also think the Pro is a great package. I don't think I would trust an arm that screws on to the tree.
