I just purchased the Varizoom for my Sony HXR-NX30, it doesnt have a designated lanc port, so i also purchased the adapter for Sony cameras. I plugged everything up....nothing. The camera will not recognize the remote. I found different reviews online for the Varizoom where others used the same lanc for the same camera as mine with no issues.

Im just curious if there is a setting i need on/off for it to work properly. Hope someone can help. thanks ahead of time!

Found out today that even tho this camera lists that you can use a lanc remote with adapter...that feature does not actually exist. looks like ill be sending it back and going with the Canon XA20.....shoulda went that route first, ah well...

That's too bad. Seems silly that they wouldn't include that option for that camera.

yeah i thought so as well, for a prosumer type camera to leave this feature out is baffeling..but i will package it on up and send it back in and get the right camera, so no harm no foul in the grand scheme of things.

The XA20 is a great camera. I think you will be very happy with it.
