I need you guys advice too. Would you buy and Canon XA10 or a Canon XHA1? I am looking to upgrade my camcorder in May and I wanted some input. I have a budget for the camcorder of $1600. I saw a post earlier today that someone is selling a Canon XHA1 with a lot of accessories, but I can't spend that money now. (Buying plane ticket for GTG, Pre-registering and making camp site reservation this month.) Thanks in advance Sam
The XA10 ... newer technology. Less zoom range than the XH-A1, but the tapeless format and newer technology in general is so much better. The XH-A1 is great. I had one for years and sold it last summer when I went to the XA20. But I honestly do not miss the tape media at all.
I just sold my xha1s to move away from tape. The xa10 is a really nice camera, but I would save up just a little more and get the xa20. That 20x zoom makes a huge difference in my opinion. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
Agreen with them. No tape and having that 20x zoom will make things just that much better. I made the mistake of buying a camera with only 10x zoom and I really really wish I had 20x. You do have a option with I belive the hfg30 I think it is and has 20x zoom but a little cheaper then the xa20.
Cool, Thanks guys. I think I will do that. I can come up with the extra for the XA20. I may have to wait a month or so, but that is cool.
No doubt about it you should save and wait until you're able to get the XA20! You will love that 20x zoom like others have said. You definitely won't be disappointed spending the extra money for the better camera.
Buy from B&H Photo Video. Be very very careful of low ball prices that you find on the internet when it comes to camera gear. Lots of scams out there. B&H is reputable and has fair pricing every day of the year.
Either Amazon or B&H. I purchased mine from Amazon but you will get the best price from either of those.
