So up here in NY Sunday marks the arrival of long awaited turkey season. I personally was broken hearted and infuriated this morning. Waking up and having coffee at 530 so I could listen to the birds gobble on the roost in my front yard. I sat with a smile knowing my blind was up, cameras up and on video, and Mathews ready. When sadly at 607 I hear a gobble then the unmistakable report of a shotgun. Gobble ,report, report, silence... Gd I hate P.O.S that can't even wait until season to poach.

You immediately called the game warden, grabbed your .45 smith and wesson and went looking for that scofflaw i hope. Down here we just catch em red handed and hang em right there in da woods.

Sure gives "real hunters" a bad name besides the fact that it really sucks!

This morning, Sunday, opening day. I'm up at 3:30. At my spot at 4:15 or so. And sitting in the truck waiting to get out and enter the woods. I exit my truck at 5:00 or so. Get all geared up and start walking across the corn field. I'm listening and walking. I get to with if 100 yards of the woods and decide to listen and wait a few minutes before I owl call. I get ready to owl call and a few fields away here comes a truck. The skyline is visible now. Truck pulls into the field. Far enough away for me. It's a 700 acre farm. Guy immediately opens his door. I can hear the chime as the keys are still in the truck. He hits his owl call and does it completely wrong and sounds like crap. Then I hear it a few more times to no response and just as bad as before. Few minutes of silence and I hear a truck door slam and the beep of the keyless entry system when you hit the lock button.

Unreal!!! Just unreal. So many idiots out there. I worked my away further away from this guy. Located a bird and had success. Opening day is so scary!!

A buddy was hunting the second season in central Wisconsin on public land this year. Had a bird coming to him. He knew the bird had to cross a gravel road to get to him. He figured that Tom was about 75 yards out. His other buddy was driving near by with his son and watched another truck pull up and shoot it out the window of the truck. They called it in and I think who ever was in that truck got a ticket. Poachers are terribly. I don't understand where the satisfaction is in shooting anything out of your truck window.
